Scoping a green economy

What does a green economy mean to you, or your business, or your community? What could a green economy look like in your country? What are some of the key questions for discussing a transition at a national or regional level? What does an inclusive green economy dialogue process involve?

In this short guide produced by IIED, in partnership with GEC and a host of dialogue partners, Steve Bass - Head of Sustainable Markets Group (IIED), reflects on some of the key lessons learned via a series of green economy dialogues hosted in 11 developing countries including with the GEC.

The handy guide collects the key objectives and outcomes of a green economy transition drawn from across different national experiences. It goes on to provide a practical diagnostic checklist of potential requirements for a green economy as well as some sample questions to help guide discussion amongst different stakeholder groups. Finally, the guide provides some tips on preparing, holding, writing up and sustaining the dialogue process.

If you are exploring the potentials offered by a green economy, or involved in research, planning, monitoring and evaluation, this guide provides some essential reading. Check it out.
